Group Visit Guidelines
We are delighted that you have chosen to visit one of New York’s premiere historic sites and we want your visit to be completely successful and enjoyable. Please review the following information and share it with all members of your visiting group to be sure that everyone is aware of all the information that they need. Thanks!

Please Note: New York State Historic Sites are largely accessible. Most areas of Senate House State Historic Site are accessible, but not all. Please discuss your needs and arrangements with staff when planning your visit.
Begin your visit at the Senate House Museum, 312 Fair Street
Admission Fee: $3 per person, including chaperones.
Payment: Can be made by check or with cash, in advance or the day of the visit. Checks should be made out to “New York State Parks and Recreation.” Group leaders, please collect all fees to be paid for your group and present them to the staff person at the reception desk before your visit begins.
Cancellations and Changes to Your Visit: If you must cancel or change any details of your visit (i.e. arrival/departure time, number in group, etc.), please alert us as soon as possible by calling (845) 338-2786.
Chaperone Policy: For groups of students/children, we require a ratio of 1 chaperone for every 5 children.
Bus Parking: There are spaces reserved for buses in the parking lot (entrance on Clinton Ave. side). Please do not leave bus engines idling for long periods of time.
Eating on Site: No food, drinks or chewing gum in the buildings, please. In fair weather, there are picnic tables outside on the grounds. Please leave all foodstuffs on the bus or consult the staff about an appropriate area for storing them until lunch time. If you would like information on local restaurants, please speak with a staff member. No food or drinks are sold on site.
Photography Policy: Please feel free to take outdoor photographs. Excessive light from flashes can harm old and fragile artifacts. Please ask your group to refrain from taking flash photographs indoors.
Museum Manners: Please remind everyone before arrival of the following rules:
- Please no touching objects on display, and no leaning on display cases
- No gum, food or drink in the buildings
- Please silence cell phones while on tour
- All members of a group must stay together while touring the site buildings
